Thin-walled babbitt bearings are a type of plain bearing, also known as sleeve bearings, that feature a thin layer of babbitt metal bonded to a steel or bronze shell. Common types

Main Bearings

Main bearings are the bearings on which the crankshaft rotates. The main bearing firmly holds the crankshaft in place and therefore halts the forces created by the piston and transmitted to the crankshaft by the connecting rods from dislodging the crankshaft.
